POST YOUR COMMENTS It's also Darlington Race Week and those in charge want you to have fun and stay safe. More than 100,000 people are expected at Darlington Raceway this weekend for Friday night's truck race and for Saturday night's Dodge Challenger 500. Local, state and federal authorities will be there, too enforcing traffic and providing security, and that includes E.M.S. and firefighters. "I think seeing those folks in the crowd in the stands and in the infield I think that gives everyone a level of comfort to know that they're there and looking out for everyone's best interest," said Jake Harris, Darlington Raceway Director of Public Relations. Fans can carry cameras and snacks in clear plastic bags. Cell phones are allowed in the gates as are soft sided coolers. Among the things not allowed are backpacks and hard-sided coolers. |
