Brad Keselowski is driving in his first full season for JR Motorsports in the Nationwide Series.
On Thursday, Keselowski sat down with Morning News writer Shawn Singleton to talk about racing and other aspects of his life.
Q: Talk about your day at Darlington. How was the new surface?
Keselowski: The track is very fast. You won’t have to burn through as many tires as before. This is going to be a wild and crazy race.
Q: Is having so many Sprint Cup drivers racing in the Nationwide Series a good thing or a bad thing?
Keselowski: It’s 50-50. Having all the Cup guys racing with us gives us some great exposure, and we feel even better when we beat them. On the other hand, they’re getting extra practice for a race that I’m not even in.
Q: You were involved in a commercial shoot for Wrangler with Dale Earnhardt, Jr., earlier this week. What was that like?
Keselowski: It was a lot of fun. I got to do a commercial with one of the most popular drivers in NASCAR. I hope I can be like him one day.
Q: Have you been to Dale Jr.’s new club, Whiskey River?
Keselowski: Oh, yes. It’s a great place.
Q: What are your interests outside racing?
Keselowski: Racing. I love to race whether it’s on the track or on a video game. I’m a competitive person.
Q: What is your favorite TV show?
Keselowski: I Tivo a lot, so I’ve been watching “Home Improvement” more than any other show.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
Keselowski: I’ve seen so many movies that I don’t have one favorite movie that I watch over and over.
Q: What kind of music do you have in your Ipod?
Keselowski: I don’t own an Ipod. I listen to a lot of music in my car at home, not my race car. But I don’t take any music with me. I like to soak in an area and breathe in the surroundings.
Q: Any pre-race superstitions?
Keselowski: I don’t have a true pre-race superstition. There are things that I do that I think everyone else does, but I wouldn’t call it a superstition.
Q: If you weren’t in racing, what would you be doing?
Keselowski: I ask a lot of questions. I’m a very inquisitive person. So if I weren’t in racing, I’d be a lawyer.
